The holidays are here! And even though Egg Nog has been making its appearance in grocery stores since early November, I have to exercise some self control for this creamy holiday beverage. You see I have a problem. I can crush Nog like its nobody’s business. I realize that it is an acquired taste and it’s not for everybody, but I’m pretty sure my consumption makes up for the population that gag at the mere thought of Egg Nog. Thank Gawd it’s only sold during the holidays…otherwise I’d be in trouble.
I’m not a breakfast person. Eating in the morning is not appealing to me, but I realize that breakfast {especially within the first hour of waking} is the most important meal of the day. It boosts your metabolism for the day, keeps you from binging at other meals, and takes away the hangry feels. Basically, breakfast sets the your body’s tone for the day. Just do it. So basically, I’m a smoothie girl in the morning. Everyday.
This morning I opened my fridge to see the findings of my grocery run last night and shining like a beacon of temptation was my FarmBoy Organic Egg Nog. Helloooooooo Egg Nog Smoothie. Eggs are for breakfast right?
So I did it! I created a yummy shake/smoothie using my normal essentials and adding in my Nog. It definitely triggered my festive feels. Try out this recipe if you are a Nog lover, and if not, try it anyway! I promise it is not an overpowering taste.
